Miss Jackson joined the Senior Leadership Team this year with responsibility for the Quality of Education, with a particular focus on enhancing students’ reading and oracy skills.
She graduated from the University of Manchester with both a degree and a Master’s in English Literature, and began her teaching career in Manchester in 2008. Since then, she has held roles at St Mary’s, Menston—one of the highest-performing comprehensive schools in the country—and at Abbey Grange Academy.
Driven by a strong passion for teaching and learning, and a commitment to developing literacy in students from all backgrounds, Miss Jackson progressed from Head of English to Assistant Principal at Lightcliffe Academy in 2024. Following a successful secondment, she has returned to Abbey Grange Academy, where she now leads on teaching and learning across the school.
Miss Jackson is particularly focused on advancing adaptive teaching practices and strengthening the development of oracy and reading across the curriculum.
