Vision & Values

Abbey Grange C of E Academy is a successful, caring and happy school located in the north-west of the city of Leeds. Our 1600 students come from all over Leeds, the majority staying on to our thriving Sixth Form. Whatever their age, our vision remains the same:

We embrace Jesus’ call to life in all its fullness. As a diverse community, we celebrate difference and build character through innovative and imaginative practice that seeks to transform lives. Enabling everyone to flourish means finding identity, purpose and value in God as we journey together.

‘My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.’
John 10 v 10

This is underpinned by our mission, which we share with Abbey Multi Academy Trust

To work in partnership, to educate, nurture and empower

SIAMS Inspection

Here are some of the things that our last SIAMS inspection (2023) said about us. (SIAMS is the organisation which carries out inspections of Anglican and Methodist schools, to judge their effectiveness as church schools.)

  • “A strong sense of welcome and belonging encapsulates the diverse and inclusive community.”
  • “Students in all years thrive in this aspirational community.”
  • Collective worship provides “Wonderful, valuable and varied opportunities [that] empower students and staff to share their faith and deepen their spiritual experiences.”
  • “All leaders share the determination to improve life changes for students at the academy.”

Overall, the inspection findings indicated that Abbey Grange Church of England Academy is living up to its foundation as a Church school. You can read more including the full report on our SIAMS page.
