GCSE Exam Results

There is much for our students to celebrate today as they receive their GCSE results. Just over a fifth of our students achieved a grade 7 or higher in both English and Maths, and four fifths of them achieved a grade 4 or better in these two subjects. More than three quarters of our students gained a standard pass (grade 4 or better) across 5 subjects, including English and Maths, and it was good to hear about many who will be returning to Abbey Grange to continue their education. Of all the grades achieved, 154 were at grade 9 and 276 at grade 8, which was well deserved by all those students.

It is important to remember that these results are based on the hard work of students during their Key Stage 4 studies, and the fact that they were not able to sit their final exams does not detract from this achievement. If anything, given all the challenges that this year has produced, students should feel particularly proud of their achievements, which are a credit to their hard work and perseverance.

So, many congratulations to our Year 11 students and best wishes for the future. We look forward to seeing a lot of you back with us in September, but for those moving on, take care and hope all goes well for you
