In Business, we aim to:

  • Share experiences and examples of successful entrepreneurs and businesses and the benefits that Enterprise can bring to our society.
  • Develop students understanding of the Business world from a domestic and international perspective helping students to understand different cultures, people and points of view.
  • Understand how as individuals we can benefit from contributing to business and the benefits and rewards this can provide in terms of financial stability, social development, skills and experiences.
  • Consider the practical application of business concepts.
  • Provide opportunities to explore business theories and concepts through the context of business events in the business and the economic world.
  • Students will apply their knowledge and understanding to business decision making including the interdependent nature of business activity,influences on business, business operations, finance, marketing and human resources, and how these interdependencies underpin business decision making
  • Students develop their use business terminology to identify and explain business activity
  • Apply business concepts to familiar and unfamiliar contexts and broaden their outlooks on opportunities
  • Develop problem solving and decision making skills relevant to business
  • Investigate facts and make deductions
  • Analyse and better understand the business world.
  • Express opinions with consideration.
  • Develop opinions and new ideas on business issues.
  • Understand the links between business, society,communities, education and social, environmental and ethical issues.

Ultimately, we aim to develop global citizens through enjoyment from learning about ourselves and the world around us. This will allow our students to make a positive contribution to wider society and prepare them for life in a diverse community.
