Welcome to Abbey Grange Academy’s Parent Groups!
The Academy has active groups of parents involved in supporting its Christian ethos to educate, nurture and empower our children within the Academy.
Everyone has different skills that can be used to support students at the Academy. So we would love you to get involved in one of the Parent Groups. The information below is designed to give you a flavour of what we do and how you can contribute.
Further information about our groups, minutes of meetings and recent successes, please see the appropriate menu under the Parent Involvement section and on our Academy noticeboard (Ground Floor corridor, main building).
If you are interested in joining one of our groups, please contact the Academy by the following:

You can also find us at the refreshment stall on parents’ evenings, so please come to have a chat. We look forward to meeting you!
As a parent or carer of a student at Abbey Grange, you are automatically a member of the PTA. Joining in with PTA activities is a great way of supporting the Academy and your child, whilst making new friends among the other parents.
As part of our activities we raise funds to provide ‘extras’ which enrich the life of the Academy and which would otherwise be beyond the reach of the school budget. For example, providing prizes for an award, supporting Academy trips, or contributing towards improvements of the buildings and grounds.
Use your creative skills in a practical way by getting involved in events such as the Winter Fair, Spring Raffle, and serving refreshments at Parents’ Evenings. We also sell second hand uniforms prior to each PTA meeting.
Come along to our meetings to share your ideas and help plan some amazing future fund-raising events. We meet at 7.30pm, monthly for an hour, in term time. Please see the Academy calendar for dates.
Alternatively, check our webpage for other ways to support fund-raising.
This is parents’ voice, representing parents in all Academy matters honestly, openly and constructively.
Our objectives are to promote partnership between the Academy and all its parents to:
Being a member of Parent Council provides a unique insight and influence to the policies and other issues affecting students at AGA.
We meet monthly at AGA: Mondays 6.30 to 7.30 (see calendar on website).
Parent Council is open to all parents so do come and talk to us at Parent Evenings, Moving On evenings, etc New members are voted in at the annual AGM
We see it as a huge privilege to come into the Academy each month, to talk through the many challenges and aspirations of our Academy’s community, and to commit them to God in prayer.
We have already been praying for your children, that each of them will find the support and friendship they need as they settle into Abbey Grange; and will continue to do so as they move up the Academy, face exam pressures and make choices for their future.
You can email us at any time if you would like prayer for something specific. You can sign up for the monthly Prayer Bulletin. Or even better, join us for a meeting, and find out what it’s like to be part of the spiritual support network for the Academy.
We have an evening meeting once a term, and between those we meet monthly on a Monday afternoon in the Academy Chaplaincy. Our dates are on the Academy Calendar.
