For any queries regarding admissions or in year transfers, please contact the general office. Please note that application forms for unsuccessful applicants will be retained by the Academy for 2 years.
There have been some changes made to the original published policy for admissions to Abbey Grange C of E Academy for September 2019 entry. This is as a result of a review of the policy by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA), in the light of the policy being perceived to be complex and therefore difficult for parents and carers to understand. The decision of the OSA and the determination it has made were only made known to us on 29th August and are legally binding on the academy, meaning that they have had to be implemented for the current admissions round. Therefore the admissions policy has certain differences to the original policy published on the academy’s website.
The policy remains one which uses faith as its main over-subscription criterion (the process by which places are allocated when the academy has more applicants than places); however there are now a reduced number of sub-categories within the main 3 faith categories; in particular, the “known to the church/place of worship” sub category has been removed, and residence within the deaneries of Diocese of Leeds has been moved to the tie break provision. The supplementary information form has been changed to reflect this.
We have therefore made the decision to write to any families who have already submitted applications for September 2019 entry to alert them to these changes, and to ask them to fill in the new supplementary information form. We apologise for the inconvenience, but want to ensure that all applications are filled out correctly in order to give each applicant the best chance possible of getting a place. Please contact the academy if you have any queries regarding this matter.
If you would like to go onto our waiting list or if you have any queries, please contact the general office.
